discovery weekend

our priest, fr. martin, suggested that we attend the discovery weekend by CEFAM. it was to be our pre-cana seminar. so we registered and attended the september 7 to 9 schedule. we stayed at the OMI retreat house in fairview.

on our way there, i asked jason what he thought was going to happen over the weekend. both of us were anxious because we didn't know what to expect. when we finally got to OMI, we relaxed...maybe because the place was nice and quiet but i think it was more because we saw familiar faces. and before the start of the first session, jason and i were already making friends with some of the couples who were there.

during the seminar, our facilitator said that couples can have three possible discoveries. one is that they discover that they are meant to take each other as husband and wife. second, they discover that they need to know each other more and therefore choose to postpone the wedding. and last but not the least, they discover that they're not ready and decide to call it quits. this was not meant to scare any of us there, it was reality.

fortunately for jason and me, we discovered that we are on the right track. and we are set for december 15. discovery weekend brought jason and i closer and our relationship has never been better.

welcome to the family!

i had a very touching experience with tita nett, jason's mom, last sunday. after dinner i asked her about the jeweler. she mentioned that we should ask tita lily for another refereral since she wasn't too happy with the her jeweler anymore. (fortunately, she did a very good job with my engagement ring.) and she goes,"tell her, 'tita can you recommend another alahera because mommy is not happy with her alahera na.'"...and then she adds,"you call me mommy na ha? welcome to the family."

after hearing that, i just hugged her and said thank you. i couldn't explain what i felt at that very moment. i was just really happy.

make-up by gina

last june 11 i had my trial hair and make-up with gina desuasido at vv5. since it was a holiday, batchang and karen joined us for the trial session. i was amazed at how big gina's make-up kit was! it was HUGE! wish i had one too. (sana lang marunong din ako mag-make-up. hehehe!). she also had a small compressor which was purple. aliw! of course it was jason who was most interested in it. i think he's seriously considering to get one for himself...definitely NOT for make-up purposes. hehehe!

anyway, it was the first time i had airbrush make-up done. gina did a good job. it was a good thing that jason and batchang were both trigger happy. i have pictures and videos of the session. of course that was trial number 1. there's still room for improvement...see, i have bangs that have a mind of its own. i have to wait for my hair to grow so that gina can do a different style for the next trial, maybe in 2 more months.

we only have 151 days before the wedding...i'm not the least bit worried about my make-up coz i know i'll be in good hands. thanks to gina!

here are some of the pics.

house hunting

we've been looking for a house for 4 months now. we've seen a few but none that really fit what we want/need and more importantly we haven't seen one that fit our budget. it's hard looking for the right place for us. so many things to consider:

1. is it accesible by public transport?
2. is it easy to get to makati?
3. does it have a garage?
4. how many square meters? how many bedrooms?
5. how much? how much is the monthly amortization?

etcetera...etcetera...

but we'd like to thank tito benny (jason's dad) for driving us to marikina to go house hunting. and also to tito nonong (future ninong sa kasal)for looking around for houses that are for sale. my papa also suggested that we look in mandaluyong and cubao. i guess that's our next stop. we won't stop looking...we'll keep praying that we find a house.

i know we'll find one eventually...hopefully we find it before the wedding.(",)

"diamonds last forever"

jason and i were in eastwood last night talking about our wedding plans. somehow in the middle of our conversation, he asked me about getting the side panels of our car re-upholstered. i thought about it for a minute and told him that we can get that done next time since we have more important things to save up for like of course our wedding (which is 9 months away! i'm sooo excited!). and then he said, "after my birthday na lang. yun na lang birthday gift ko sa sarili ko." i answered," pwede. eh sa akin ano birthday gift mo?"

jason looked at my ring and said,"no more na. diamonds last forever di ba?" he laughed so hard. he was waiting to say that for a long time! hehehe! and i have to admit he does have a point!
